Louisa Chan Retires

Louisa Chan Retires

November 30, 2018

After 21 years of service with Greenville Utilities, Senior Financial Planning and Rates Analyst Louisa Chan (pictured right with Jonathan Britt) has recently retired. Louisa’s job involved a lot of moving parts that included long-range financial plans, capital project funding plans, rates and cost of service studies, and budget support. Her work helped the Management Team make decisions on project planning, prioritizing, and budgeting.

Louisa enjoyed the people that she worked with along with the challenges of her job. “GUC is like a big family to me and I will miss that,” she said. “I really enjoyed my time working here. I also like challenges and my job was very complex, so when I finished something I felt really accomplished.”

Originally from Hong Kong, Louisa moved to the states in 1977 and came to Greenville in the early 1980’s. She is very family-oriented and enjoys spending her free time with them (three sisters in California, one sister in Greenville, and two brothers in Seattle).

In retirement, Louisa is preparing to move to Newark, California, so that she is closer to most of her family. This will also make it easier for her to fly home to Hong Kong.

Louisa, we wish you the best of luck in retirement and with the big move!
