United Way Spirit Award & Decade of Giving
The United Way of Pitt County (UWPC) presented Amanda Wall, Finance Controller, and LeAnne Wetherington, Customer Relations Senior Administrative Assistant, with the United Way “Spirit of Community Award” at its annual meeting. GUC was also recognized for a “Decade of Giving.”
Amanda and LeAnne have served on GUC’s United Way Committee since 2018 and 2015 respectively, and currently serve as Chair and Co-Chair. They were recognized with the award for their efforts to re-energize our employee United Way campaign in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the needs of our community were at their greatest.
“Amanda and LeAnne spiritly rocketed into action, implementing awareness of the needs in our community and creating incentives to foster the involvement of GUC employees throughout the year,” said UWPC Director of Resource Development James Earl Jones. “Many of the ideas implemented in this past year’s GUC employee campaign were shared with other local organizations as a guide for a successful campaign.”
Mr. Jones also praised the support of GUC management, the GUC United Way committee, and all of our employees for raising $37,900 over the last year. In addition, GUC was recognized for its “Decade of Giving” to United Way of Pitt County, raising $409,360 from 2012 to 2022.
