Getting in the Holiday Spirit

Getting in the Holiday Spirit

December 15, 2021

Hats off to our operating departments for continuing the tradition of participating in the Greenville Jaycees’ Christmas Parade – this year on December 4th. For the sixth time, it was held at night, so the parade was filled with festive, twinkling lights.

Special thanks also to Electric, Gas, and Water Resources employees who decorated and operated the GUC vehicles for the parade. Cole Hartley, Overhead (OH) Lineworker, drove the bucket truck while his wife and daughter rode along. Those who helped Cole prep and decorate the truck included OH Construction Line Crew Leader Mike Ashley along with OH Lineworkers Matt McLawhorn, Richard Gould, and Chad Hines.

Gas Systems Crew Leader Chris Rouse drove a decorated Compressed Natural Gas truck. Riding along with Chris were his wife and two sons along with Gas Systems Technician Tony Richards with his wife and daughter. Those who helped prep and decorate the truck included Gas Systems Technicians Chris Bright, Blake Beddard, and Josh Harrell.

John Hart, Systems Maintenance Crew Leader, drove the sewer truck with his son riding along, while Pipe Layer Alex Congleton helped John with prepping and decorating the truck.

Thank you to these employees and their families for making us look good!

Celebrating Together
Special holiday luncheons were held on December 13th, 14th, and 15th at Rock Springs Center.  Employees enjoyed a delicious lunch, received a special gift, and, most of all, some quality fellowship and fun with co-workers.

Many thanks to the Human Resources Department for organizing this fun and festive event!
