Get to Know Greenville  

The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce held a “Get to Know Greenville” event in Uptown Greenville on August 22nd. The event was held outside and gave East Carolina University and Pitt Community College students a chance to visit with businesses and organizations while socially distancing. The Chamber gave away cash and prizes to students who filled their “passports” by visiting all of the participating booths. Big thanks to HR Director Richie Shreves and Public Information Officer/Communications Manager Steve Hawley for meeting with students during this event. 

Education Appreciation Week 

Each year, GUC participates in Education Appreciation week for Pitt County Schools where participating businesses are invited on the last day to a luncheon.  A representative from each business is seated with a group of educators. Due to the pandemic this year, the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber organized the event and assigned each of the businesses a school.  GUC was assigned to Eastern Elementary School. Many thanks to HR Manager Lena Previll for delivering a banner, balloons, GUC logo items, and food trays from Rock Springs to teachers and staff of Eastern Elementary.
