Recap on TRAINING 2022 & What’s New for 2023
The goal of training at GUC is to build a growth mindset and focus on continuous learning and development. Training prepares us to overcome obstacles, enhance and expand skills, be intentional in our relationships, and stay grounded when our only constant is change. Here is a recap of the training we offered in 2022 and some of what’s to come in the new year.
Our Leadership Development Training initiative kicked off at the beginning of 2022. This is one of the largest investments GUC has made in its employees and was created to address the overall development of supervisors. Classes are available for all levels of leaders, along with one class available to those not in leadership but would like to learn how to lead from where they are. There will also be additional elective classes available as the program continues.
Leadership Development Trainings this year were:
- Building the Organization (Executive)
- Building Leaders (Exec, Advanced & Fundamentals of Leadership)
- Leading with Emotional Intelligence (Exec)
- Empowering Situational Leaders (Exec)
- Taking Charge (Leading for Team Members)
NET, or New Employee Training, continued training our new employees on protocols and procedures at GUC. In 2022, the Training Office provided four monthly recurring training sessions and four facility tours for new employees:
- Technology at GUC
- Workplace DiSC
- Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging
- Customer Service & Respectful Workplace (includes tour of Control Center)
- Tours: WWTP & Liquefied Natural Gas Plant, Substation, and Water Treatment Plant
Multiple new training sessions are already on the calendar for 2023, along with our ongoing Leadership Development and NET trainings.

- Taking Charge (Leadership Dev cont’d)
- Situational Coaching (Leadership Dev)
- Leading with Emotional Intelligence (Leadership Dev)
