Lynette Smith Retires
Lynette Smith, Customer Contact Representative I, has retired after almost 16 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Her main responsibility was to answer calls from customers wanting to connect, disconnect, or transfer service. She also helped customers with billing questions or whose service had been disconnected or disrupted. Customer Contact Representatives are often a customer's first contact with GUC, either in person or on the phone, responding to a variety of customer inquiries.
“I’ll miss my coworkers the most,” said Lynette, “but I also enjoyed working with our customers.”
Lynette began her GUC career as a Dispatcher in Station One. Before landing in her current role, she also worked in the Gas Department as a Secretary and in Finance as a Cashier. She left to work in customer service at the Town of Winterville for four years and then returned to GUC in her current role in the Customer Relations Department.
In retirement, Lynette says she looks forward to traveling some, sleeping in, and spending time with her husband, Daniel, who has been retired from GUC’s Electric Department for 10 years.
Lynette, we wish you the best of luck in retirement!
