June 2020: In The Community
Chamber Leadership
Troy Heath, Gas Systems Coordinator, and Jarrett McGalliard, Water Resources Engineering Support Manager, recently graduated from the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute. Over the course of eight months, they learned about issues facing our community, developed skills needed to enhance leadership strengths, and learned how to become involved in leadership roles in our community. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, part of the course was presented online, and their graduation looked much different than normal. Kate Teel, Chamber President & CEO, personally presented each graduate with their certificates. Fan Donation
On June 24th, Jonathan Sergeant and Seth Shoneman (Energy Services) along with Scott Mullis (Customer Relations) donated 100 box fans to the Greenville Housing Authority and the Pitt County Council on Aging to help residents to beat the heat during the summer months. For more than 25 years, GUC has provided fans to be distributed to the elderly, handicapped, and qualifying families with small children. To date, GUC has donated approximately 2,700 fans to needy families in our area.
