Jim Rapin Retires
Energy Services Officer Jim Rapin recently retired after 20 years of service. Jim was an integral part of our Energy Services Office, providing a valuable service to our customers by sharing all kinds of helpful, reliable energy information. From energy audits at customers’ homes to appliance energy-efficiency ratings and fuel cost comparisons to public speaking for clubs and civic groups, Energy Services helps customers get the most from their energy dollars.
GUC’s E-300 program was a big focus for Jim. E-300 is our program for residential and commercial structures. It helps builders and consumers design and build homes that require the least amount of heating and cooling. “I enjoyed working with contractors so their homes and buildings would get the most savings and comfort,” said Jim.
“I met some great people here,” he said. “They’ll always be a part of my life.”
Jim and his wife, Brenda, have three grown children and three grandchildren. Brenda retires next year, and they are looking forward to getting a travel trailer and hitting the road. In the meantime, Jim is doing some contract work with Tideland EMC, and enjoying having extra time to ride his Harley Davidson and play more golf.
Best wishes in your retirement, Jim!
