Jeff Camp Retires

Jeff Camp Retires

January 18, 2018

Jeff Camp, Industrial Pretreatment Specialist at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), has retired after 25 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Jeff coordinated our pretreatment program that monitors industrial discharges. Heavy metals, chemicals, and other potentially harmful substances can affect the sewer treatment process. GUC is required by the Clean Water Act to have a pre-treatment program to monitor these discharges. By requiring industries to treat and test their wastewater before it gets to our plant, we also help prevent problems with our treatment process.

"Not only did I enjoy working with the others here at the plant, I really enjoyed working with GUC's industrial and commercial customers as well as others in our line of work," said Jeff.  "I think providing good customer service while protecting the plant and receiving stream from wastewater discharges was one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I formed good friendships here and in the wastewater industry and I'll miss that."

Jeff and his wife, Roz, have a daughter, Taylor, who is a junior at NC State University, and a son, Rod, who is a junior at North Pitt High School.  Jeff looks forward to spending more time with his family and getting outside for more waterfowl and deer hunting.

Good luck in retirement, Jeff!
